Do you like to study in short bursts or long ones?
Once you know how you learn best, use that knowledge to your advantage. For example, if you know that you work best in short bursts, then break down your studying into shorter segments and take frequent breaks. If you like to have a lot of information in front of you, try using different media to learn — like a book and audio book combo.
Get Organized and Make a Study Plan
It’s that time of year again — when the “new you” is born, and you swear you’re going to get your shit together. The first step? Making a study plan.
Start by organizing your material by topic. This will help you see where you need the most help, and it will give you a birds-eye view of the material as a whole.
Once you have a general idea of what you need to cover, start plugging in specific dates for when each topic should be covered. This will help keep you accountable, and it will also give you a sense of accomplishment as you mark each day off your calendar.

It’s the beginning of a new semester, and you’ve probably already been bombarded with advice on how to study smarter, not harder. But who has time for that? You’re juggling a part-time job, social life, and the never-ending task of keeping your room clean.

There are also plenty of online resources that can help you study smarter, not harder. For example, did you know that YouTube has an entire library of educational videos? You can find videos on just about any topic imaginable. So if you’re having trouble understanding a concept, there’s a good chance that someone has created a video explaining it in detail.
So don’t be afraid to ask for help or get creative with your studying methods. You’ll be glad you did.
